Pontoon lights cut out while idling

I have a Pontoon myself and now my best buddy asked me to look at his 2007 Harris 240 Classic. He said everything was running fine until he left it idling at the dock for a couple of hours one night. Then suddenly, the lights just shut off. Other accessories kept working. He's only got a single battery, so I'm guessing low idle might have starved the alternator? Could that explain why the lights dropped out but the rest stayed on?

@moonton's You might also wantna check for corrosion on the light circuit connections. Sometimes it's not power loss but resistance building up quietly over time.

The lights draw quite a bit of juice, so if the alternator output dipped, they'd be the first to flicker or go out, the other accessories might run off stored battery power or have lower demand, check your alternator's output at idle and maybe upgrading the battery or adding a second one
